"Mongungi" is a Gubbi Gubbi (Australian Aboriginal language) word meaning "On the Water". Written and arranged by Maroochy, the song refers to the beautiful Black Swan dancing on the water, and incorporates two lines of a traditional Gubbi Gubbi song 'Gurri Nina Nami' owned by Wa'din. Daki Budtcha is extremely grateful for the custodians permission to use the song.

In 1996 "Mongungi" won the 'Single of the Year' at the Deadly Sounds National Music Awards in Sydney. Recommended for the DJs, Techno, and Dance fans seeking something fresh. This modern-tribalistic sound also appeals to the culturally-curious audience. Maroochy is of Turrbal, Gubbi Gubbi and Kamilaroi ancestry.

Daki Budtcha Records would like to thank the descendants of Wha'din. This recording is dedicated to THE GUBBI GUBBI PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA.
